Fiat 500 oil level sensor error
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Fiat 500 owner is experiencing an oil level error on the speedometer and occasional oil pressure warning lights. The suspected cause is a faulty oil level sensor or its wiring. Another owner with a similar issue found that a loose and corroded plug connection was the problem, which was resolved by replacing the connector. It is suggested to inspect the connections and consider professional assistance to confirm and fix the issue.

Thanks for the reply! I'm getting a generic "oil level sensor signal faulty" code. Did you end up replacing the sensor itself, or was it something else?

Okay, "oil level sensor signal faulty" is indeed what I had too. I started poking around and found that the plug connection to the sensor was loose and corroded! I tried cleaning it but no luck. Honestly, I didn't want to mess with it too much, so I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a defective cable/plug. They replaced the connector, and it's been fine since. Saved me from replacing the whole sensor! I recommend getting it checked out by a pro.

Thanks, that's really helpful! I'll check the connections first, but it sounds like a trip to the workshop is in order. Got a quote for 95€ for a new connector which seems reasonable. Appreciate the insight!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I have a Fiat 500 too and had a similar freak-out a while back with oil detection. My dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. I initially thought the engine was toast. What kind of error codes are you pulling? Knowing the specific code might help narrow it down.
