Fiat 500 rear window heating issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2016 Fiat 500, gasoline engine. The rear window heating isn't working at all! I get an error stored, and the windshield heating seems weaker than usual too. I've checked the fuses, but nothing seems obviously blown. The car has 199489 km on it. Any ideas? Could it be something simple before I take it in? Thinking it might be the window heater or maybe something with the auto defrost function?

Wow, that sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot 208. The thermal window just gave up the ghost. Does your battery seem okay? Mine was heavily discharged, and that was causing all sorts of weird electrical gremlins. Have you checked the voltage? It might be the culprit.

Yeah, it's bizarre, I know! My Peugeot was starting fine too, but the battery was definitely on its way out. Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop as you suggested. Turns out the battery was indeed heavily discharged and defective! They replaced it, cleared the error codes, and the rear window heater is working perfectly again. Cost me 290€, but at least it's fixed. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
