Fiat Avventura Oxygen Sensor Faulty Connection
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Fiat Avventura diesel owner experienced a check engine light and increased fuel consumption, with an error code indicating an oxygen sensor issue. The problem was suspected to be either a failing sensor or a faulty cable or plug connection. After visiting a workshop, it was confirmed that the issue was a bad connection on the pre-catalytic oxygen sensor, which was then repaired.

Thanks, I didn't see any exhaust damage, but I'll look closer. The error code doesn't say which sensor it is. Is there an easy way to tell which sensor is bad without special tools?

Since the error code isn't specific, it could be a bad connection like you first thought. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis.

Thanks for the advice! I went to a workshop, and it was a bad connection on the pre-cat O2 sensor, just like I suspected. The repair was 95€.

Have you checked the exhaust system for damage or leaks? Also, does the error code say if it's the pre-catalytic or post-catalytic oxygen sensor?
