Fiat Bravo engine stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Fiat Bravo with a diesel engine is experiencing a check engine light and occasional stalling when idling. The issue is suspected to be related to a fuel tank ventilation system leak, specifically within the EVAP system. A suggestion to check the activated charcoal filter was made, leading to a workshop visit where a defective filter was confirmed and replaced, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the activated charcoal filter located, and is it something I could check myself, or should I take it to a mechanic?

On my Astra it was near the fuel tank. But honestly, it can be tricky to get to. Given the symptoms, and if you're not super confident, probably best to get a workshop to take a look. They can run proper diagnostics on the EVAP system.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on – defective activated charcoal filter in the EVAP system. Repair cost me 275€. Runs like a charm now!

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my old Opel Astra. Check engine light and occasional stalling. Turned out to be a problem with the EVAP system. Maybe it's worth checking the activated charcoal filter?
