Fiat Bravo Steering Problem
Summary of the thread
A Fiat Bravo owner experienced steering issues, including increased effort to turn and intense vibration, potentially due to a faulty steering angle sensor. The problem was suspected to be related to incorrect coding affecting electronic stability. A similar case was resolved by replacing the defective sensor, recalibrating the system, and checking wheel alignment, which restored proper steering function.

Yeah, the shaking is pretty intense, especially at lower speeds. Loose steering column sounds about right. Did you get any warning lights, and how did you eventually sort it?

No warning lights for me. It sounds like your steering angle sensor is defective like mine was. Wheel alignment didn't fix it either. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop.

Cheers for the heads-up! I took it to the workshop as suggested. You were spot on – faulty steering angle sensor. New sensor, coding sorted, and alignment checked. Cost me 195€, but the steering is now perfect.

I had something similar with my Bravo. Was your steering wheel shaking, almost like alignment problems? Did it feel like the steering column was loose?
