Fiat Cronos Active Hood Fault Airbag Light
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Fiat Cronos owner experienced an 'Active hood fault' error and an airbag warning light on the dashboard. The issue was identified as potentially being caused by faulty acceleration sensors, which are part of the crash detection system. It was advised to have the vehicle checked by a professional to avoid accidental airbag deployment. The problem was confirmed to be the acceleration sensor, and the repair was successfully completed at a workshop.

Thanks for the tip! Where are the acceleration sensors located? And were your symptoms exactly the same – the active hood message plus the airbag light?

Yep, same symptoms. I wouldn't mess with the sensors yourself unless you really know what you're doing. The airbags are involved, so better take it to a workshop to avoid accidentally deploying them.

Thanks a lot! I took your advice and brought it to a workshop. Turns out it was indeed the acceleration sensor, and the repair cost me about 315€. Appreciate the help!

I had something like that with my Cronos. Check your acceleration sensors. It's like when a smoke detector goes off because of low battery, but instead of smoke, it's a faulty sensor messing with the crash detection system.
