Fiat Cronos Overheating Bypass Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Fiat Cronos with a gasoline engine is experiencing overheating issues, with an error related to the bypass valve. The problem may be linked to a faulty sensor, which can cause power loss and a burnt rubber smell. The recommended solution is to visit a workshop for proper diagnosis and repair. After replacing the faulty sensor, the car's performance returned to normal, and the repair was covered at no cost.

Power loss... now that you mention it, yeah, it feels a bit sluggish. And sometimes it smells a bit like burnt rubber. What do you reckon it could be then? Should I start looking at the air intake?

Burnt rubber smell isn't good. I had a similar issue, thought it was vacuum system related. Turned out to be a consequential error from something else. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they'll have the tools to diagnose it properly.

Thanks! Took your advice and went to the workshop. Turns out it was a faulty sensor causing all the chaos. They replaced it, cleared the error, and now it's running like new! And the best part? Repair was free!

Bypass valve, eh? I've got a Cronos too. Sounds familiar. Have you noticed any power loss or weird noises coming from the exhaust system?
