Fiat Doblo AC Compressor Failure

Guys, need help! My 2008 Fiat Doblo, gasoline engine, is driving me nuts. The A/C compressor just quit! No cold air, the A/C system won't even switch on, and there's an error code stored. Could it be the pressure switch or maybe the AC relay? Ugh, this HVAC system is a pain!

Summary of the thread

The 2008 Fiat Doblo's A/C compressor failure was linked to an error code B10AA, indicating an undervoltage issue. This problem could be caused by faulty wiring or electrical components like the pressure switch or AC relay. It was advised to consult a qualified technician to avoid further damage, as running the system under undervoltage conditions could harm the compressor. The issue was resolved by fixing the wiring and recharging the system, restoring the A/C functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Based on the symptoms you've described and the error code present, it is possible that undervoltage within the vehicle's electrical system is causing the A/C compressor to disengage. Have you checked the voltage at the A/C compressor when the system is activated? Also, could you specify the exact error code you're seeing in the vehicle's diagnostic memory?

Voltage, huh? I haven't checked that directly at the compressor, no. Where exactly should I measure that? The error code is B10AA. Does that undervoltage thing usually fry the A/C compressor?

Error code B10AA indeed suggests an undervoltage issue. While directly measuring voltage at the compressor is possible, it requires a level of electrical system understanding. Given the observed symptoms and error code, along with your relative level of experience, I would recommend consulting a qualified automotive technician to avoid causing further damage. It is likely that the A/C compressor has switched off to prevent damage. Persistently running the system in an undervoltage state may eventually cause damage to the compressor itself.

Okay, thanks a lot! You nailed it! Took it to a workshop, and the low voltage was the culprit. They fixed the wiring and charged the system. Cost me 240€, but at least it's working again!
