Fiat Ducato AdBlue Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Fiat Ducato diesel van is experiencing issues with the AdBlue system, where the tank appears empty despite being recently filled, leading to error messages and the vehicle not starting. The problem may be due to a defective AdBlue pump, which is not delivering fluid to the SCR catalyst. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the AdBlue pump, and it is recommended to have the system checked by a workshop to avoid further complications.

Thanks a bunch for the quick reply! I haven't spotted any puddles, to be honest, which makes it even more confusing. So, what exactly was the issue with yours, and what did you end up doing to fix it? Did you replace the whole tank or just some parts? And how much did it set you back?

Right, no puddles is interesting, but don't rule out a leak just yet; it might be evaporating on the hot exhaust. In my case, it was definitely the AdBlue pump itself. It wasn't pushing the fluid through to the SCR catalyst like it should. I ended up taking it to a workshop and they replaced the pump. They said it's a fairly common problem. Saved myself the headache of figuring it out. I'd suggest you get it checked out; messing with the SCR system can be tricky, and you don't want to make things worse.

Okay, I hear you loud and clear. Workshop it is! I was hoping to avoid it, but it sounds like the AdBlue pump is the prime suspect here. Knowing what to expect is half the battle, I suppose. Thank you so much for your help! It's likely gonna cost me around 250€, but at least it should solve the problem.

DUCATO

Sounds eerily familiar! I've got a Ducato too, and I had almost the EXACT same symptoms last year. AdBlue light, error codes galore, and eventually, wouldn't start. It's like the van is holding its breath, refusing to go anywhere. Did you notice any drips or puddles of AdBlue under the van? That's the telltale sign of a leak, which could mean the pump is knackered or there's a crack in the tank itself.
