Fiat Fiorino Electrical Issues
Summary of the thread
The 2000 Fiat Fiorino was experiencing electrical issues, with fault memory entries indicating overvoltage and system failures. The initial suspicion was a heavily discharged or defective battery. A similar past issue with an Opel Astra suggested checking the voltage regulator, but the problem was ultimately resolved by replacing the defective battery and conducting an electrical check-up.

Thanks for the heads up. How did you pinpoint the voltage regulator? I'm seeing fault codes related to multiple modules, which is why I initially suspected the battery. What exactly failed in your Astra?

Okay, so with my Astra, the lights were flickering like crazy, and the car would randomly stall. My mechanic used a multimeter to test the voltage regulator output while the engine was running. It was spiking way beyond the acceptable range. The ECU got fried because of the constant overvoltage, along with some sensors. Honestly, after that experience, I would recommend getting it checked at a workshop before something else breaks.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Based on that, I took it to a workshop. Turns out it was a heavily discharged battery due to internal defects. New battery and some electrical check-up for 290€. Problem solved!

Whoa, sounds like a nightmare! I had something similar happen with my old Opel Astra. It turned out to be a faulty voltage regulator causing a power surge. Fried a bunch of stuff, including the ECU. Have you checked the voltage regulator output? Are you getting circuit protection messages too?
