Fiat Idea overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Fiat Idea with a gasoline engine is experiencing severe overheating, with the electric fan barely spinning or not functioning at all. The problem may be due to a defective cable or plug connection to the fan. A suggestion to check the fan relay was made, but the issue was ultimately resolved by addressing the faulty connection, costing 95€.

Relay, huh? I hadn't thought of that. Where exactly is that located, and how would I test it? Is it possible to replace it by myself or should I go to the workshop?

Mine was located near the fuse box in the engine compartment. Unfortunately, it was beyond my skills, so I brought my Megane to the workshop.

A defective cable or plug connection of the component was indeed the issue. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Thanks for the pointer anyway!

I had a similar overheating issue with my old Renault Megane. Same symptoms, electric fan was the culprit. Did you check the fan relay?
