Fiat Idea Overvoltage
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Fiat Idea is experiencing overvoltage issues, with a full fault memory, failing systems, and a seemingly weak battery. The problem could be due to a bad battery or potentially more complex electrical issues. After diagnosis, it was determined that the battery was the root cause, and replacing it along with conducting electrical checks resolved the overvoltage problems.

Thanks! I'll check that. You mentioned your Opel Astra had similar problems - what was the root cause of the overvoltage in your case? What did the repair cost?

I never found the root cause myself. I took it to a workshop. They fixed it, but I didn't get a detailed explanation, just the bill. It's probably similar to your problem - consider going to a professional. It sounds more complex than a simple fuse replacement.

For those interested, I had it diagnosed. The battery was the problem, even though it seemed okay. A new battery and electrical checks cost 290€, but it fixed the overvoltage issues. Thanks again for the guidance!

Interesting. I had a similar experience with my old Opel Astra, though not as extensive. Have you checked the fuses or relays? Maybe a fuse or relay issue could cause feedback. What about the alternator? Is it overcharging?
