Fiat Idea steering column fault
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Fiat Idea is experiencing an electric steering column adjustment issue, with an error stored and the column not adjusting electrically. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or plug connection. It is suggested to have the issue diagnosed and repaired at a workshop, as a similar problem was resolved by fixing a corroded plug.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Interesting! Nah, mine didn't give any feedback or warnings. Just straight up stopped working. The mileage is at 47187 km. You think it's worth checking the connections myself, or should I just bite the bullet and take it to a workshop?

Honestly, unless you're super confident with wiring looms, I'd say workshop. I tried poking around myself and ended up making things worse. Best to get it diagnosed properly. I ended up paying around 95€ for the fix - so it was cheaper than I was expecting. They said a plug was corroded.

Cheers for the advice! Workshop it is then. Hopefully, it's just a corroded plug like yours. I'll post a follow-up once it's sorted. Much appreciated!

I had a similar issue with my Fiat Idea. Was getting some weird feedback through the wheel at low speeds before it packed in completely. Did yours start doing anything similar before it fully died?
