Fiat Mobi fuel pressure sensor issue

I'm getting super frustrated with my 2022 Fiat Mobi, gasoline engine. The check engine light is constantly on, and it's running really rough. It even stalls sometimes when I'm just sitting at a light, which is super embarrassing! And don't even get me started on the jerking when I try to accelerate. I've checked the basics, like air filter and spark plugs, but nothing seems obviously wrong. Could it be the fuel system? I've read something about the fuel pressure sensor.

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Fiat Mobi with a gasoline engine was experiencing issues such as a persistent check engine light, rough running, stalling, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion was a problem with the fuel system, specifically the fuel pressure sensor. It was suggested to inspect the sensor's wiring and plug connection for damage or corrosion. Upon further investigation, a bad connection in the plug was identified as the cause, and after repair, the vehicle's performance improved significantly.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Rough running, stalling, and jerking on acceleration combined with a check engine light definitely points towards fuel delivery issues. The fuel pressure sensor is a good place to start. Have you checked the sensor's wiring and plug connection? A loose or corroded connection can cause intermittent and strange problems. A defective fuel pressure sensor often triggers those symptoms.

Okay, thanks! I'll check the wiring. When you say 'plug connection', what exactly should I be looking for? Like, is there a specific way to test it, or am I just looking for anything obviously broken?

Visually inspect the connector for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose wires. Unplug it and check the pins inside the connector for corrosion. Also, inspect the wiring harness leading to the connector for any cuts, chafing, or damage. If you have a multimeter, you could test the continuity of the wires from the sensor to the ECU, but honestly, with those symptoms and mileage, and given that you've already checked the basics, it's likely a faulty sensor or a wiring issue best addressed by a workshop.

Thanks for the help! You were right, the problem was the fuel pressure sensor, like you suggested. Turns out it was a bad connection in the plug, just like you said. The workshop charged me 95€ to fix it. Runs like a dream now!
