Yeah, I got a diagnostic scan, and it pointed to an active air flap fault. What exactly does that mean and what am I looking at?

Ah, bingo! On my Insignia, the flap motor was defective. Those flaps control airflow to the engine, and if they're stuck, it can cause overheating. I'd say it's worth taking it to a workshop to have them check the electromechanism.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to the shop, and you were right – faulty air flap motor. Repair came out to 590€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Opel Insignia. Check engine light, overheating... fun times! Did you get any fault codes read when the light came on? Could be related to the active air flaps. Is the car's performance impacted?
