Fiat Novo weak battery flickering lights
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a 2012 Fiat Novo experiencing a weak battery and flickering lights, suspected to be caused by a faulty battery sensor. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the battery voltage sensor, which can lead to inaccurate charge readings and improper battery charging. The suggested solution is to have the sensor's voltage output checked and potentially replaced, with a recommendation to seek professional diagnosis and repair.

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't checked the voltage output yet. Where exactly is the sensor located, and do you know what the correct voltage range should be? Also, did replacing the sensor fix your problems completely?

The sensor is usually attached to the battery or nearby on the chassis. As for the specific voltage range, I don’t recall the exact values, but it should be within the specified range indicated on the part, but a car workshop will know that much better. Replacing the sensor fixed the problem entirely for me, but honestly, I’d suggest getting it diagnosed professionally. It ended up costing me around 315€ to get sorted.

Great, thanks a lot for the helpful information! I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the battery sensor and its voltage output. Hopefully, that's the only issue. I will post again once it's resolved.

I also have a Fiat Novo and I had a similar problem. It turned out to be the battery voltage sensor. A defective sensor can cause all sorts of issues, like inaccurate charge readings, which leads to the battery not charging properly. Have you checked the sensor's output voltage to see if it's within the correct range?
