Fiat Scudo Running Rich
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Fiat Scudo is experiencing issues with running too rich, leading to reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, higher fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration. The initial suspicion was a defective injector. Suggestions included checking the oxygen sensor and spark plugs, as a faulty oxygen sensor can disrupt the air/fuel mixture. Ultimately, a workshop confirmed a defective fuel injector, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

I haven't checked the oxygen sensor or spark plugs yet. Is it possible that a faulty oxygen sensor causes all these symptoms? What was your fuel economy before and after fixing your Scudo?

Yep, a faulty oxygen sensor can definitely cause those symptoms. It messes with the air/fuel mixture. My fuel economy was terrible before, but back to normal afterwards. If it's not the sensor, it could be the fuel injectors themselves. Given all the symptoms, it's probably best to get it checked out by a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop and they confirmed it was a defective fuel injector. Repair cost 515€. Runs fine now.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Scudo – though it's an older model. Have you checked the oxygen sensor or spark plugs? A rich mixture can also be caused by those. What's your fuel economy like?
