Fiesta Manifold Pressure Sensor

My 2016 Ford Fiesta with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. Check engine light is on, power is way down, the engine feels sluggish, and fuel consumption has gone up. I'm wondering if it's the manifold pressure sensor. I'm guessing a vacuum leak, but I'm not sure. Has anyone else had a sensor failure with these symptoms?

Those symptoms, check engine light, reduced power, poor response, and increased fuel consumption, do point to a manifold pressure sensor issue. Before assuming it's the sensor, have you checked the wiring and connector for damage or corrosion? Also, what's the specific diagnostic trouble code (DTC) from the ECU?

Thanks! I checked the wiring quickly, didn't see anything obvious, but I'll look again. The code is P0106. Does that confirm the pressure sensor or could something else trigger that code in a Fiesta?

P0106 does suggest a problem with the manifold pressure sensor circuit. Checking the wiring is smart, but with those symptoms and that code, the sensor itself is likely failing. Given the car's age, sensor degradation is not surprising. I'd suggest a shop visit to confirm and replace the sensor.

Thanks so much! You were right. It was the manifold pressure sensor. Replaced it, and the car runs great. The bill was 235€, which is annoying, but better than I expected. Thanks for the help!
