Fiorino auxiliary heater issue
Summary of the thread
The auxiliary heater in a 2002 Fiat Fiorino diesel was not activating, and an error was stored. A similar issue was resolved in another vehicle by checking the glow plug, which was found to be defective. The faulty glow plug prevented the heater from igniting, and replacing it resolved the issue.

Thank you for the suggestion! Could a defective glow plug really cause the parking heater to fail completely? Coolant level is fine, by the way.

Yes, absolutely! In my Vito, a faulty glow plug prevented the heater from igniting at all. The system probably detects the fault and shuts down for safety. Would definitely recommend checking it out or bringing it to the workshop.

Thank you for confirming! I took it to the workshop, and you were right – the glow plug was indeed defective. Repair cost me 440€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Mercedes Vito. Have you checked the glow plug? In my case, that was the culprit. Is the coolant level okay?
