Fiorino engine stalling after fuel filter change
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Fiat Fiorino diesel experienced stalling and reduced power after a fuel filter change, with a check engine light appearing. The issue was suspected to be related to fuel pressure, possibly due to improper priming of the fuel system, leading to trapped air bubbles. A diagnostic check confirmed a faulty fuel pressure regulator, which was replaced, resolving the problem.

Thanks! I tried to prime the system, but maybe I didn't do it correctly. How did you figure out it was the fuel pressure regulator? What does 'prime the fuel system' mean? Can I check it myself, or do I need special tools?

After research and a diagnostic check, the error code pointed to a problem with the fuel pressure. An air bubble might have gotten trapped after the filter change, messing with the pressure readings. Priming means making sure the fuel lines are full of fuel before starting the engine. I'd recommend a workshop to get it properly diagnosed. They can check the fuel pressure regulator.

You were right! The local shop confirmed it was the fuel pressure regulator. There was an error entry after I changed the fuel filter. They replaced the regulator for 45€. The Fiorino is running smoothly again!

I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra after changing the fuel filter. The check engine light was on, and the engine was running really rough. Could be a faulty fuel pressure regulator. Did you make sure to prime the fuel system properly after the filter change?
