Fiorino Weak Battery Flickering Lights

My 2005 Fiat Fiorino with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. Got about 243774 km on the clock. The battery seems super weak when starting, almost like it's not getting enough juice. And the lights are flickering. I'm leaning towards a bad battery sensor, but I'm open to ideas. Anyone else run into something similar?

Summary of the thread

A 2005 Fiat Fiorino with high mileage is experiencing a weak battery and flickering lights, suggesting a potential issue with the battery sensor. A similar case with a Fiat Doblo pointed to a defective battery voltage sensor as the cause. After professional diagnosis, the faulty sensor was confirmed and replaced, resolving the problem.

I had similar problems with my Fiat Doblo. Check your battery voltage sensor; it might be defective.

Interesting. How did you narrow it down to the voltage sensor? What kind of symptoms were you seeing, and did you do any specific testing?

Symptoms were identical to yours, and testing pointed to the sensor being faulty. I recommend you go to the workshop to properly diagnose the issue.

Thanks! Looks like you were spot on. Took it to the shop, and they confirmed the battery sensor was shot. Cost me 315€ to get it replaced, but everything is working great again.
