Fit hybrid engine power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Honda Fit hybrid experienced significant engine power loss and a persistent check engine light. The initial suspicion was a defective throttle valve, with potential issues in the accelerator pedal module or internal electronics. After further investigation and a workshop visit, the problem was confirmed to be a defective throttle valve and accelerator pedal module, which were subsequently repaired.

Yes, there is a slight response delay when I press on the accelerator, and I suspect this problem causes the described symptoms. I'm not sure how to diagnose the air flow problem. What should I look for specifically regarding the air flow? Any advice on checking the throttle sensor?

Given the response delay, it's quite possible the accelerator pedal module or electronics inside are defective. Diagnosing air flow issues without proper equipment can be tricky. I recommend taking it to a workshop to get it checked.

Thanks for the advice. After a visit to the workshop, the diagnostic confirmed a defective throttle valve, and the accelerator pedal module was indeed the problem. The repair cost me 265€. Appreciate your help!

Reduced engine power and a check engine light often point to issues within the throttle system. Have you noticed any response delay when pressing the accelerator, or any unusual behavior with the air flow?
