FiveHundred power windows

Has anyone run into window regulator issues after a battery replacement? My 2004 Ford FiveHundred with a gasoline engine now has unresponsive power windows after swapping the battery. Error memory shows a fault. Is the system needs some bizarre re-initialization?

Power window problems after a battery change, huh? I've got a FiveHundred as well, and experienced something similar. Have you checked all the window switches? Did you try to reset the window control module?

It's not just disconnecting the battery again. From what I recall, there's some kind of initialization procedure needed after the power is interrupted. After messing with it for an afternoon, I just took it to the shop. They had the right diagnostic tools to get it sorted quickly.

Sounds like a trip to the workshop is inevitable then. Just got a quote for 290€, seems reasonable enough to avoid further headaches.
