FJCruiser radio reception issues

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the antenna ground located? I'm not super experienced with this stuff. And how would I test the signal amplifier? Is that something I can do myself, or is it better left to a pro?

The antenna ground is usually near the base of the antenna, often under the fender or inside the roof lining – you'll need to do some digging. As for the signal amplifier, testing it without the right tools is like trying to diagnose a heart problem with a stethoscope made of cardboard. I'd honestly recommend taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it. In my case, the defective antenna was the problem.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to the shop, and you nailed it – defective antenna. Repair cost me 255€. All sorted now!

Sounds familiar! I have an FJCruiser, and had similar issues. Check your antenna ground first. A bad ground can cause all sorts of weird radio interference. It's like trying to listen to music through a tin can tied to a string. Also, have you looked into the signal amplifier? Maybe it's given up the ghost.
