FJCruiser Sunroof Not Initialized Error

Good shout on the battery disconnect! I'll give that a try. The coding was mainly for enabling some additional off-road features and tweaking the throttle response. Nothing that should affect the sunroof, but who knows with these modern systems, right? Any specific modules I should be looking at, or is it more of a 'shot in the dark' situation?

Right, off-road features... Hmm. Okay, so it shouldn't be directly related, but these things can be sensitive. Honestly, it's tough to say without diving deep into the diagnostic codes. Seeing as the sunroof's completely kaput, and you suspect coding, my gut feeling? Bite the bullet and get it hooked up to a proper diagnostics tool at a reputable shop. They can pinpoint exactly what's throwing the error and probably re-initialize the sunroof system for you. It's probably safer than poking around blindly and potentially making things worse!

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on about the shop. Turns out the coding did mess with the sunroof calibration somehow. They re-initialized it, and everything's working perfectly now. Cost me 75€, but well worth it to have a working sunroof again!

Whoa, that sounds like a proper headache! Coding messing with the sunroof...yeah, I've heard whispers of that being a potential issue on some models. First off, did you try any basic resets? Like disconnecting the battery for a bit to see if it clears the error? Also, what kind of coding was done? Knowing that might give us a clue. Was it just some module tweaks, or a full-on ECU remap?
