Fluence Charge Air Temperature Sensor Error

I am experiencing a charge air temperature sensor error with my 2012 Renault Fluence (diesel engine), mileage 43324 km. The check engine light is illuminated, accompanied by reduced engine power, a whistling noise, and a loud hissing sound upon acceleration. Error memory indicates a fault related to the charge air temperature sensor. Initial inspection suggests a potentially defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered similar issues?

The symptoms you describe certainly point to a problem within the charge air system. Before condemning the sensor itself, have you verified the integrity of the entire intake tract for leaks? A breach could cause temperature fluctuations and trigger the fault. Any recent work done on the intake or turbo?

Thank you for the reply. I haven't performed a thorough check for leaks beyond a visual inspection of accessible hoses. Could a small leak truly manifest with such pronounced symptoms, specifically the restricted performance? And no, no prior work has been performed on the intake or turbo.

A leak, even a minor one, can disrupt the mass airflow and temperature readings, impacting engine management and resulting in power loss. Given the error code and symptoms, I recommend a professional diagnostic assessment to pinpoint the source of the fault. The cable or plug connection needs to be inspected with specialized tools.

Understood. I appreciate the insight. I proceeded to have a workshop inspect the cable or plug connection of the component. Indeed, this was the issue, and the repair cost 95€ Thank you.
