Fluence Injection System Fault

My 2015 Renault Fluence with a gasoline engine is showing signs of a faulty injection system: increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, stalling, and smoke on acceleration. No external leaks are visible. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my Fluence. Increased fuel consumption, reduced power, and stalling sound familiar. Did you check the oxygen sensor? A faulty one can cause the engine to run rich.

Thanks! Could you share what tests or observations led you to suspect the oxygen sensor in your case?

I didn't do any tests myself, but the workshop found it using diagnostic equipment. They said the sensor was providing incorrect feedback to the ECU, causing it to miscalculate the fuel mixture. I'd suggest checking the error codes at a workshop.

Following your advice, a workshop found a defective connection in the injection system. Replacing a faulty connector cost 95€. The car is running normally now. Your experience was a great help.
