Fluence Jerking Acceleration Loss of Power
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Renault Fluence diesel is experiencing jerking during acceleration, loss of power, rough idling, and a strong exhaust smell, with the check engine light on and error codes indicating misfires and lean conditions. The suspected cause is a defective, leaking intake manifold. A similar issue was resolved by addressing an intake manifold gasket leak, suggesting a pressure test of the intake system to confirm and fix the problem. The solution involved replacing the defective intake manifold, which resolved the performance issues.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yeah, there are a bunch of codes, mostly pointing to misfires and lean running conditions. But I'm zeroing in on the intake manifold. Did you ever figure out what was causing the issue on your Insignia?

Yep, intake manifold gasket leak. If you suspect it's the manifold itself, you're probably right to get it checked. Could be cracked or warped. Best bet is to get it to a workshop and have them pressure test the intake system. Saved me a lot of headache in the long run.

Appreciate the advice. Turns out the intake manifold was defective and leaking. Cost me 1180€ to get it sorted, but she's running like a dream now.

Sounds familiar. Had a similar problem with my old Opel Insignia. Same symptoms, rough running, loss of power. Is it throwing any specific codes, or is it just a general engine misfire?
