Fluence microphone failure
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Renault Fluence owner experienced a hands-free microphone failure, affecting call functionality and storing an error. The issue was suspected to be Bluetooth-related but was later identified as a defective infotainment system. The problem also impacted speech recognition, and after checking wireless connections and considering ambient noise, a workshop confirmed the defect, leading to a repair.

Speech recognition isn't working either. I checked the wireless connection, and it seems normal. What do you mean by ambient noise? Is this a widespread issue?

By ambient noise, I meant whether there's excessive background interference potentially disrupting voice recognition. If both telephony and speech recognition are failing despite a seemingly normal wireless connection, the infotainment system is most likely defective. I had to take mine to a workshop.

Thank you. The workshop confirmed the infotainment system was indeed defective. The repair cost was 815€. Hopefully, this resolves the issue permanently.

I had a similar problem with my Fluence. It sounds like your infotainment system might be defective. Does speech recognition work? What about ambient noise? Have you checked the wireless connection settings?
