Fluence preheating light issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Renault Fluence diesel with 193,391 km is experiencing a persistent preheating light issue, likely due to a defective glow plug. This problem can cause rough cold starts and engine misfires. The suggested solution is to have the glow plugs checked and replaced by a professional. After replacing the glow plugs, the preheating light issue was resolved, and the engine performance improved.

Yes, now that you mention it, cold starts have been a bit rough, and the engine seems to misfire for a few seconds after ignition. So you are saying that the glow plugs can cause the preheating light to stay on?

Affirmative. A faulty glow plug can absolutely cause the preheating light to remain illuminated and trigger an error code. Given the rough starts and misfires, it's highly probable. I recommend you have it checked by a professional to confirm the defective glow plug and replace them.

Thanks for the confirmation. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on! It was indeed a defective glow plug, and they replaced all of them. The final bill came to 440€. The preheating light is now behaving normally, and the engine starts much smoother. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Fluence. The preheating light staying on, coupled with an error code, definitely points towards the glow plugs. Have you noticed any other symptoms, like difficulty starting in cold weather or a rough idle?
