Fluence rear window heating issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Renault Fluence is experiencing a rear window heating issue, with an error stored and underperforming windshield heating, despite fuses being intact. A potential cause suggested is a weak or defective battery, which can affect the rear defroster even if the car starts normally. Testing and replacing the battery resolved the issue, restoring the rear window heating functionality.

Thanks. I haven't tested the voltage, but the car starts fine. Could a slightly weak battery cause only the rear window heating to fail, while other systems seem normal?

Yes, that's exactly what happened to mine. The car started fine, but the rear defroster and windshield heating were intermittent. The diagnostics pointed to a general electrical fault. A workshop confirmed it was the battery. Worth getting it tested professionally.

Appreciate the advice. Had the battery tested and it was indeed the problem. Replaced it, and the rear window heating is now working. Total repair cost was 290€.

I had a similar issue with my Fluence. Does your battery seem weak? A discharged or defective battery caused my rear defroster to fail. Have you checked the battery's voltage?
