Focus AC compressor error

A/C on my 2000 Ford Focus with a gasoline engine isn't working. The system doesn't switch on, so there's no cold air. I scanned it and there's an error stored related to the A/C compressor. Has anyone seen anything similar? Could it be the pressure switch or maybe the AC relay?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Focus. The A/C would just randomly cut out. Have you checked for undervoltage? If the voltage is low, the compressor might not be getting enough power to kick on. Any other electrical weirdness going on in the car?

Undervoltage, huh? I hadn't really thought of that. No other obvious electrical issues, but I'll check the battery and alternator. Where should I be looking for undervoltage specifically related to the A/C system? Is there a common point of failure I should test?

Yeah, it might be a bit tricky to pinpoint. Mine turned out to be a weird interaction with the relay switch. Honestly, after chasing it for a while, I just took it to a workshop. They diagnosed it as undervoltage causing the A/C compressor to shut off and fixed some wiring. Saved me a lot of headache.

Thanks for the tip! I checked for undervoltage and found a bad wire. Got it fixed at the workshop for 240€. Apparently, the undervoltage was making the A/C compressor shut off. Appreciate the help!
