Focus Airbag Warning Light Rollover Sensor Error

My 2007 Ford Focus with a gasoline engine is stumping me. The airbag warning lamp in the speedometer keeps lighting up, and the diagnostic tool shows an error related to the rollover sensor. Has anyone else experienced this? The mileage is around 203200 km. I'm worried about vehicle safety issues. Could the tilt sensor be faulty?

I had something similar with my Focus; same warning light and error code pointing to the rollover sensor. Did the error appear after any specific event, like a hard bump or unusual parking angle?

That's interesting! No, it just appeared randomly. I haven't had any accidents or anything like that. Could it be a defective control unit, and do you have any idea about the repair cost?

Yeah, that's what it was for me too. After some digging, it turned out to be a faulty control unit affecting the rollover sensor. Unfortunately, I couldn't fix it myself. I ended up taking it to a shop, and they replaced the unit. If I remember correctly, it cost me around 1000€. I'd suggest taking it to a trusted workshop.

Thanks a lot for the help! At least now I know what I'm dealing with before visiting a workshop. I appreciate you sharing your experience; seems like this could be a more involved job. Will post the resolution once complete!
