Focus fuel level sensor issue

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2000 Ford Focus (gasoline engine). It's got almost 200,000 km on the clock. The check engine light keeps popping on, and sometimes the engine just stalls when I'm idling. I scanned it, and it's throwing a fuel level sensor error. I'm thinking maybe it's a fuse related to the fuel system. Anyone had something similar?

I had a similar problem with my Focus. I think the fuel level sensor is just bad. Does the fuel gauge on the car dashboard act crazy before it stalls?

Yeah, the fuel gauge is all over the place before it dies! So, you're saying it's not a fuse issue like I suspected, and more like the sensor itself is just kaput?

It wasn't the fuse for me, no. Sounds exactly like what happened to mine. I'd take it to a workshop and get the fuel tank checked. It will save you a lot of headache.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were right. The fuel level sensor was faulty. Replaced it for 52€, and everything is back to normal.
