Focus outside temperature sensor issues

Okay, so I'm at my wit's end. I have a 2015 Ford Focus with a gasoline engine, and the outside temperature sensor seems to have gone bonkers. I'm getting an error stored in the memory, the air conditioning refuses to kick on, the spray nozzles are practically frozen solid even when it's not THAT cold, and the mirror heating is totally useless. I've read that a defective cable or plug connection is the likely cause. Anyone else experienced this madness? I’m just trying to avoid taking it to a workshop.
