Ford Everest Engine Power Loss

Hi, I have a 2009 Ford Everest, diesel engine, with about 149k km. Recently, I've noticed a loss of power, the check engine light is on, and the engine runs rough, especially with jerking when accelerating. Could this be related to a lean fuel mixture? I've checked the oxygen sensor, but it seems fine. Is it time to look at the fuel injectors?

Everest owner here! Reduced engine power and a check engine light...sound familiar? I had similar symptoms in my Everest. Did you check for vacuum leaks? Could also be the throttle body. Have you scanned the error code? That would be my first step.

Thanks! I didn't check the throttle body. As for the error code, it points to a lean mixture. Do you think this also was the case for you? What did you do?

Yes, the error code was also indicating a lean mixture. Given the mileage, I'd strongly suspect the fuel injectors themselves. A defective injection valve is the most obvious culprit. I bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. Is that an option for you?

Thanks for the advice! It turned out to be a faulty injector. Cost me 515€ to get it fixed. Runs like new now!
