Ford Fusion fuel level sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Ford Fusion experienced a check engine light and occasional stalling when idling, with a diagnostic scan indicating a fuel level sensor error. The issue could potentially be a simple fuse problem or something more complex. After consulting with a mechanic, it was confirmed that the problem was indeed a faulty fuel level sensor, which was replaced, resolving the check engine light and stalling issues.

Yes, sometimes the fuel gauge seems a bit erratic, but I wasn't sure if it was related. Did replacing the sensor solve the problem entirely for your Opel?

In my case, it did fix the fuel gauge issue, but the underlying problem was more extensive than just a faulty reading. Given the stalling, I'd recommend getting it checked by a professional workshop to rule out any other potential causes before replacing the fuel sensor. It might save you some money and time in the long run.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local mechanic, and it turned out to be a faulty fuel level sensor indeed. They replaced it, and the check engine light is gone, and the stalling has stopped. The repair cost was 52€. Appreciate your help!

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Corsa. The fuel gauge was all over the place, and it turned out to be a faulty sensor. Did you notice any issues with the fuel gauge readings on your dashboard?
