Ford GT Headlight problem

Hi, I've got a 2019 Ford GT with a gasoline engine and I'm running into a headlight issue. Mileage is at 214085 km. The error memory keeps storing a fault, and the speedometer has a warning light on. The low beams seem to be shining way too low or sometimes too high. Any ideas?

Hey there, I've got a GT myself, though I haven't seen this exact issue. It sounds like your auto-leveling system is on the fritz. When you say 'error memory,' are you referring to an OBD code? And does the beam adjust at all when you start the car, or is it just stuck?

Yeah, the OBD code reader shows a fault in the headlight range control. And no, the beam doesn't seem to adjust at all when I start the car. It's like it's frozen in place. What was your similar issue like?

Okay, that does sound very similar to what I experienced. In my case, it turned out to be a defective servomotor in the headlight assembly. The control module wasn't getting the right signals, and the motor itself was shot, like a fuse that's blown. Given your symptoms, I'd say it's time to visit a workshop. They can properly diagnose the issue and replace the faulty components. Expect to pay around 1040€ for the repair. They will probably check the lighting system, electrical connectors and beam adjustment, so it's better to have a professional doing it.

Thanks a lot for the insight. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. I'll take it to a workshop and mention the servomotor. You saved me a lot of time. That's exactly what it was, now everything is working as expected!
