Ford GT Running Rich

Alright, gearheads, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2004 Ford GT (gasoline engine, naturally) is acting up something fierce. Got about 138k km on the clock. It's running way too rich, like seriously guzzling fuel. The check engine light is mocking me from the dash, and it feels like I'm driving a bucking bronco – rough idle, loss of power, and jerking when I try to accelerate. I'm thinking it's a bad injector valve or injector problem, anyone else dealt with this nightmare?

Dude, that sounds rough! I've got a GT too, and I went through something similar a while back. Check engine light, terrible fuel economy, and the engine just felt sluggish. Did you check the oxygen sensor or maybe even the spark plugs? I'm not a mechanic, but is the air filter clean? I'd start with the basics before tearing into the fuel injection system.

O2 sensor and plugs, huh? Interesting. How bad was your fuel economy when you had that issue? And did it throw any specific codes? I've got a scanner, but a little real-world experience would be gold right now before I start throwing parts at it.

Yeah, the fuel economy was awful! Like, comically bad. I was filling up every other day. Honestly, I can't remember the exact codes, but it was definitely misfiring and running rich. If you're getting similar symptoms, I'd seriously consider taking it to a workshop. They'll have the right tools to diagnose it properly. It's better than guessing and ending up with a bigger bill, trust me!

Appreciate the advice! Ended up taking your suggestion and went to a trusted workshop. You were spot on – turned out to be a faulty injector! 515€ later and she's running like a dream again. Thanks for the help!
