Ford Ikon Belt Tensioner Issue

The noise isn't constant. It's sporadic and seems to get worse after the engine's been running a while. When you say 'similar problem', did replacing a specific part fix it? Or was there something else?

The squealing was related to the belt tensioner. I tried tightening it, but it didn't really solve the problem, and I have no experience with timing belts. I took it to a workshop.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions. I'll take it to a mechanic ASAP. I've been quoted around 455€ for the repair, which seems reasonable. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my Ford Ikon. The serpentine belt was squealing, especially on cold starts. I initially thought it was the idler pulley. Is your noise constant, or does it change with engine speed?
