Ford Ka engine power loss chip tuning
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Ford Ka experienced a significant reduction in engine power and displayed an error message, which was suspected to be related to third-party chip tuning. I did have some chip tuning done. The check engine light is on. Was it the chip tuning that caused your issues too? How did you fix it?

My mechanic suspected the chip tuning right away. Get it checked at a workshop to diagnose if the tuning is the culprit. Fingers crossed it's nothing major!

I brought it to a mechanic, and you were spot on! The chip tuning was the issue. They reverted it to the original settings, and the error is gone. Cost me 180€, but it's worth it to have my Ka running smoothly again.

I had something similar happen with my Ka, like the car's brain had a glitch. Have you had any work done on the car's computer lately? Did the dashboard light up?
