Thanks for your input! How could a defective cable or plug connection lead to this? I haven't checked the fuel filter, but could a partially clogged filter really cause the engine to stall and throw that specific error? I had a similar issue on an older car and it sounded a lot like fuel contamination.

Yes, a faulty connection can disrupt the signal from the fuel composition sensor, causing the ECU to misinterpret the fuel mixture. A clogged fuel filter restricts flow, potentially leaning out the mixture enough to cause stalling and trigger the error. Based on your description, I would take it to a workshop for a professional diagnosis.

You were right. Apparently, the error was caused by a defective cable or plug connection of the component causing the incorrect fuel composition reading. The workshop repaired the connection for 95€. Thanks for the tip!

I encountered a similar problem with my Opel Insignia. 'Incorrect fuel composition' can be triggered by a defective cable or plug connection. Have you checked the fuel filter recently, and when was the last time it was changed? I'd also listen for any unusual engine knock.
