Ford Puma exhaust temperature sensor issue

My 2023 Ford Puma, gasoline engine, is showing some worrying signs. The check engine light is on, engine power is noticeably reduced, and fuel consumption is up. Mileage is at 224662 km. Suspect a faulty exhaust temperature sensor. Anyone experienced similar issues?

Sounds familiar. Had almost the exact same symptoms with my old Renault Megane a few years back. Turned out to be a leak in the exhaust system, messing with the sensor readings. Any chance you've checked for that?

Interesting. I hadn't thought of a leak. Where exactly was the leak on your Megane's exhaust system? Was it near the heat sensor?

Can't recall the exact spot, but the mechanic mentioned it was affecting the exhaust temperature sensor, causing it to report fluctuating values. It's like a domino effect. Honestly, best to get it checked at a workshop; they'll pinpoint the issue quickly. Could be a cracked pipe or a loose connection.

Appreciate the insight. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. A small leak in the exhaust was indeed causing the exhaust temperature sensor to go haywire. Repair cost came to 265€. Thanks!
