Ford Ranger fuel pump issue

I'm having trouble with my 2018 Ford Ranger, gasoline engine, only 26647 km on the clock. It seems like the fuel pump is defective. The engine won't start sometimes, and when it does, it stalls at idle. The check engine light is also on, and the engine runs rough. I've also noticed higher fuel consumption. I scanned for errors and there's definitely something stored in the error memory. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

That sounds frustrating! I had almost the exact same symptoms with my old Opel Astra. Engine stalling, check engine light...drove me nuts! For me it was also the fuel pump relay.

Interesting. Was it actually the fuel pump itself or something related to it, like a wiring issue perhaps?

You know, it wasn't the pump itself. It turned out to be a corroded connector. So yeah, a wiring issue. Honestly, after that experience, I'd suggest having a workshop take a look. Electrical gremlins are the worst to track down.

Thanks for the advice. I checked the fuel pump wiring and found a defective plug connection, which seems to have been the issue. The car runs like new after the repair. The repair cost was 95€. Really appreciate the help!
