Fortuner ABS Fault

My 2005 Toyota Fortuner with a gasoline engine has a speed signal fault. The ABS lamp is on, causing traction problems and ABS failure. Diagnostics point to a potentially defective control unit. Mileage is 124822 km. Any ideas?

I had similar symptoms on my Fortuner. Have you checked the ECM and its wiring? A bad input signal there can cause ABS and traction control problems.

Can you be more specific about which ECM areas to check? Did it affect your odometer?

I didn't investigate myself. The problem was a defective control unit. The repair cost 1000€. I suggest having the transmission speed sensors and control unit professionally diagnosed.

Understood. Thanks for confirming the control unit. I'll take it to a workshop for a thorough diagnostic.
