Fortuner Camshaft Sensor Issue

Thanks! Yes, the error code points to the camshaft sensor. I did a quick visual inspection of the wiring, but I'm not very experienced. Where should I be looking for wiring issues? Where is the sensor located? I am not very technical.

If the error code is specific to the camshaft sensor, that narrows it down. I suggest having a qualified mechanic check the wiring and sensor connections thoroughly. Given the symptoms and error code, it's likely a faulty sensor or a wiring problem. Taking it to a workshop might be best.

I took my Fortuner to the workshop. The diagnosis confirmed a defective camshaft sensor and a loose connector. The cable connection was indeed defective! The repair cost 95€. Now, the engine runs smoothly again!

I had a similar issue with my Fortuner: rough starting, power loss, and a sensor error code. Does the error code specifically point to the camshaft sensor? Have you inspected the wiring and connectors leading to the sensor for damage or corrosion? Do you know the location of the sensor?
