Freed Battery Sensor Issue

Hey, I've got a 2015 Honda Freed with a gasoline engine that's giving me battery discharge issues. I'm seeing error messages on the speedometer, weak/flickering lights, error codes in the memory, and the battery feels weak when starting. It's done 235534 km. I'm thinking it might be the battery sensor. Anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Honda Freed with a gasoline engine is experiencing battery discharge issues, including error messages, weak lights, and a weak battery during startup. The problem is suspected to be related to the battery sensor. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a corroded sensor connection, which was affecting voltage data transmission. The suggested solution is to have the battery sensor and its connections checked and repaired by a mechanic, which successfully resolved the issue in this case.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I also drive a Honda Freed, but I don't know the year of manufacture. When my battery acted up like that - error messages, dim lights - the culprit was also the battery sensor connection. The engine computer was simply not receiving the correct voltage data and acting all crazy. Do you have the regenerative braking system? This might affect the battery charging if the car cannot properly evaluate how much braking energy to store.

Yep, mine has the regenerative braking system. Can you tell me more about the sensor connection issue you had?

The error was definitely the same. I took it to a car mechanic and they told me that there was some corrosion in the pins. The repair also included a battery check-up to ensure that it was working in good health. In the end, the repair was worth every penny. Maybe go to the garage to have the connection checked.

Thanks for confirming and for the suggestion. I took the car to the workshop and they found a defective battery sensor, exactly as the error description implied. The overall cost was 315€, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
