Freed brake booster pressure sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Honda Freed hybrid experienced reduced braking performance and an error message related to the brake booster pressure sensor. The issue was suspected to be linked to a previous brake bleed, potentially causing air to be trapped in the ABS system. A workshop confirmed that incorrect bleeding was the cause, leading to erroneous sensor readings. After re-bleeding the brakes, the error was resolved, and braking performance returned to normal.

Thank you for your reply! The brakes were bled at a local garage. If air in the ABS is the problem, is it likely to cause a brake booster pressure sensor fault?

Well, I'm no mechanic, but when my Volvo had air in the ABS, it messed with the whole braking system. The sensor itself might be fine, but the incorrect pressure readings due to the air could trigger the error. Honestly, at this point, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop and explaining the situation to them. They can properly diagnose if it's just air or if the sensor is actually faulty.

Many thanks for the advice! I took the car to a different workshop, and they confirmed that the brake system had not been bled correctly, causing the sensor to report an error. They re-bled the brakes, and the error disappeared. The braking performance is now normal. The total cost was 90€.

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Volvo V70 a while back. 'Brake booster pressure sensor' sounds fancy, but the error message and poor braking definitely ring a bell. Did you bleed the brakes yourself, or did a shop do it? If air gets trapped in the ABS system it can cause all sorts of weirdness.
