Freed defrost air distribution flap issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Honda Freed hybrid is experiencing a defrost air distribution flap issue, resulting in low heating output and an error code. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Suggested solutions include checking HVAC unit fuses and performing an actuator test using diagnostic equipment. Ultimately, a visit to a workshop revealed a corroded connector on the flap motor, which was repaired.

Thanks for the quick reply! I have checked the fuses. They seem fine. Where exactly would I perform that actuator test?

An actuator test requires diagnostic equipment. You'd need a scan tool that can communicate with the HVAC control module. Given the symptoms and error code pointing to a potential wiring issue, and considering you've already checked the fuses, it might be best to visit a workshop before further damage occurs. They can pinpoint the exact cause and repair it properly. Don't you think it's worth it?

Appreciate the advice. Took it to a shop, and you were right. Turns out it was a corroded connector on the flap motor. Repair cost me 95€ Thanks again!

That sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Freed. Low heat output and an error code related to air distribution. Have you checked the HVAC unit fuses? And did you try to perform an actuator test on the climate control system?
