Freemont Immobilizer Problem

Hi, I have a 2015 Fiat Freemont, gasoline engine, with 118355 km. It's having immobilizer issues. The engine either doesn't start, or starts briefly then dies. An error code is stored. Suspect key programming. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar immobilizer fault on my Freemont. Does the security light act weird when you try to start it? Maybe ignition control?

Yes, the security light flashes erratically. What was the fix for yours? Was it definitely key related?

Yep, flashing security light and the anti-theft system locked me out. I tried a few things, but I ended up having to get the key reprogrammed at a workshop. Cost me 45€.

Thanks for the info. Took your advice and the workshop confirmed incorrect key programming. They fixed it for 45€. Runs perfectly now!
